I was taken aback to learn that one of my old friend from real life had been in the hospital. It was shocking news since I hadn’t heard anything about his condition or even that he was unwell. And later, I received the heartbreaking news that he had already dead. It’s a poignant reminder of how quickly life can change, and how important it is to stay connected with those we care about.

As a kid, I have vivid memories of spending time with him, especially during those afternoons when he patiently taught me the delicate art of folding origami. With each crease and fold, I felt a sense of wonder as colorful paper transformed into intricate shapes such as Kaiju, Tanks, Aircraft, Robots, Stick Figures, Spaceships, and more. Those sessions were not just about the craft were filled with laughter and his encouraging words, igniting a passion in me for creativity. In the days that followed, I delighted in making my own origami toys, each one a reflection of the joy he instilled in me. However, it’s a bittersweet memory now, as he has since passed away, leaving behind a treasure trove of moments that I will always cherish.
